In these extraordinary times, the BAA invites artists to tell their stories and share their visions through their unique artistic expression. Broad and diverse approaches to the theme are encouraged. Work must be completed between 2020 and 2022. RE:FRESH invites artists from New England and New York to submit work in all media, including but not limited to painting, drawing, printmaking, fibers, metals, ceramics, sculpture, photography, audio, video, performance, installation, and fine craft. Artists must include an artist’s statement addressing the work they submit. Artists may submit jpeg images of 1-3 works with 1-3 views of each work. There is a $25.00 entry fee*.
When we began discussing a theme for the 2022 biennial, we all wanted a RE:FRESH. These past few years have been… well, exhausting, to say the least. So let’s all hit that RE:FRESH button creatively and have an exhibition that showcases what our future looks like! BAA board member Ilene thought about, “RE:FRESH as a way to step out of lockdown with a new vision.” In these extraordinary times we find ourselves, the BAA invites artists to tell their stories and share their visions through their unique artistic expressions. Entries accepted online at https://baabiennial2022.artcall.org from January 27 through April 24, 2022. The deadline for submission is Sunday, April 24, 2022. Artists will be notified of their acceptance by Monday, May 9. 2022. This exhibition is open to artists working in all media, including but not limited to painting, drawing, printmaking, fibers, metals, ceramics, sculpture, photography, audio, video, performance, installation, and more. Artists must include an artist’s statement addressing the work they submit. In addition, artists may submit jpeg images of 1-3 works with 1-3 views of each work. There is a $25.00 entry fee. The jurors for RE:FRESH 2022 are Kinney Freylinghuysen, artist and director of the Frelinghuysen Morris House & Studio, Lenox, Massachusetts; Genevieve Gaignard, a Los Angeles-based artist whose work in many media focuses on race, femininity, and class; and Linda Johnson, curator at Hancock Shaker Village, Massachusetts.
