These woodcuts are part of a series titled: We Have Always Lived Here, and is a work in progress. Shortly after the lockdown in New York City, I moved upstate. Observing nature and the animals that live on the land became a daily practice of discovery and gratitude. The many animals who live among us went about their daily lives, with their own struggles and concerns. Time slowed down - became unnecessary.
I have recognized that I am the newcomer, and my footprint must be as light as possible to maintain the balance of integrity for the ones who have always lived here.
